Robert Gordon, MD, FACP

As of January 2016, Dr. Gordon is no longer involved in direct patient care, however; he will remain active in the practice as the Principal Investigator of our NEW clinical trials program. He is eager to bring new treatment options to our patients through this program. Although clinical trials are new to the practice, Dr. Gordon has many years of experience working as the Principal Investigator of various clinical trials programs. His passion for clinical trials and novel cancer treatment agents has been evident throughout his career.

Dr. Gordon has been practicing hematology/oncology for 36 years and has been a member of AndrewsPatel Hematology/Oncology since 2001. Among the numerous prestigious awards he has received over the years are the American Medical Association Award for Continuing Education, the Cancer Recovery Foundation of America’s Award for Excellence in Education, Research, Treatment, and Prevention; and the Capital Region Unit of the American Cancer Society’s John Baum Humanitarian of the Year Award. Additionally, he has been selected by his peers as one of The Best Doctors in America from years 1997 through 2014. Dr. Gordon has been recognized for his teaching skills and has trained many residents in internal medicine and fellows in oncology during his career. He has always been an active participant in professional organizations and has held 31 administrative positions during his career, spanning educational, organizational, and clinical areas.
