A. Thomas Andrews, MD, FACP - Retired

Dr. Andrews’ impeccable reputation has been long-established and widely recognized. Together with his partner and colleague, Dr. Shashikant Patel, he has built a well-respected clinical practice serving thousands of grateful patients. A pioneer in the hospice movement during the 1970s, he spearheaded the opening of the first hospice program in the area, Hospice of Central Pennsylvania. For his tireless efforts to enhance and expand these services over the next several decades, he was the first to receive the A. Thomas Andrews Humanitarian Award, which he received a second time on the organization’s 25th anniversary.
