Last evening, Dr. Mary Simmonds was recognized by the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg as the Legacy Honoree at the 2017 Tribute to Women of Excellence event held at the Hershey Lodge. This awards dinner is held annually to honor extraordinary women for their contributions to the workplace and our community. This year 31 local women were recognized, including an Emerging Leader and a Legacy honoree our very own Dr. Simmonds. Congratulations, Dr. Simmonds! See event photos.

26th Annual Sapphire Gala

The 26th Annual Sapphire Gala hosted by the American Lung Association in Pennsylvania will be held on March 4, 2017 in Camp Hill. Former patient Beth Munsch will be honored as the Lung Hero and Dr. Mary Simmonds, who was Beth’s physician, will speak and introduce the Munsch family.

Margie Gephart, RN, BSN, OCN speaks of honoree Beth Munsch; "I appreciate the opportunity to attend the Sapphire Gala in honor of my patient, Beth Munsch. Beth was a special lady who taught me much about strength, courage, determination, and resilience. Beth inspired me both personally and professionally. All I have learned from her will continue to help me in caring for others."
